Together with the American Animal Hospital Association, Digitail is taking a closer look at how widely veterinary practices have adopted AI, how satisfied professionals are with it, and what challenges remain

Digitail, a leading provider of AI-powered practice management software for veterinary clinics, is launching the second volume of its industry-wide survey on artificial intelligence (AI) in veterinary medicine. Conducted in collaboration with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the research aims to measure the current level of AI adoption across the industry and assess its overall AI maturity.

In 2024, Digitail released its first study on the topic, capturing an early snapshot of how the profession was starting to approach AI. This year’s research will go deeper into the breadth of AI applications, practitioners’ satisfaction, how well the technology integrates with existing systems, and what business and patient care outcomes are emerging.

Our 2024 study captured a positive momentum for artificial intelligence in veterinary medicine, with nearly 40% of veterinary professionals already using AI-powered tools in their work. Much has changed in the past two years. Existing AI models have gone through dozens of improvement cycles, and AI-enabled products have grown far more capable — moving from simple automation to tools that genuinely support clinical decision-making. That’s why we want to understand how the practitioners’ experience with artificial intelligence has evolved since then,” said Sebastian Gabor, CEO and co-founder at Digitail. “By sharing their perspectives, participants will help us produce insights that move the profession toward adopting AI deliberately and sustainably, so practices can get the full value these tools have to offer.”

Professionals of all roles and practice types are invited to share their perspective, so the research can reflect how AI is showing up in different settings. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is voluntary and anonymous. As a thank-you for their time, participants will have a chance to win one of twenty $25 digital gift cards from the brand of their choice!
