Two years ago, Digitail released an industry-wide study on artificial intelligence in veterinary medicine. A lot has changed since then — so we’re back, teaming up with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to dig even deeper.
This time, we would like to take a closer look at where AI adoption really stands across the veterinary community and assess the industry’s overall AI maturity. We want to hear which AI tools veterinary professionals are actually using day-to-day, how satisfied you are with them, and what’s still getting in the way of wider adoption.

Tracking the Evolution of AI in Veterinary Care
Based on the 2024 Digitail AI survey, nearly 40% of veterinary professionals were already using AI-powered tools in their work. The community leaned more optimistic than skeptical about AI’s potential for the industry — 38% of respondents said they’d like to bring AI into their practice in the near future. With this 2026 survey, we want to find out what has changed in the two years since: how the industry has moved forward, and where AI is taking veterinary medicine next.
