Get a snapshot of where your clinic stands.
Your practice may already use a scribe or another AI tool. That tells you something about one task, but not how AI fits the team, the systems and the decisions behind it.
The model looks across six areas: strategy, oversight, tool selection, workflow integration, adoption and readiness. Together they show where the practice has built a foundation and where its next steps could matter most.
Your report turns that picture into a plan for your practice.

Your six-dimension fingerprint
See your practice's results across strategy, oversight, tool selection, workflow integration, adoption and readiness — compared with documented industry averages when scored.
Your transformation roadmap
A three-phase plan with next-level steps for each dimension, informed by the workflows you describe. Practices not yet using AI receive a foundation plan.
The Veterinary AI Maturity Model
Four stages of practice-level maturity, from Ad Hoc to Advanced. Practices not yet using AI begin at Level 0. Explore what each stage means below.
What it looks like:
A few people may be using AI without shared priorities, agreed safeguards, or a consistent way to choose tools. The practice’s workflows and readiness also matter.
Business impact:
Individual experiments can uncover useful opportunities, but they do not establish a practice-wide approach.
How you know you’re here:
The practice uses AI while several of the model’s six areas are still at an early stage.
What it looks like:
The team may be exploring priority areas, comparing a few tools, putting informal safeguards in place, and making small changes to existing workflows.
Progress can look different across the six dimensions. One useful tool does not, on its own, determine the practice’s level.
Business impact:
Early choices become easier to evaluate when the practice agrees where AI should help and what the team needs to use it well.
How you know you’re here:
Your results show which foundations are emerging and which need more attention.
What it looks like:
The practice may have chosen priorities and ownership, documented how to use AI, evaluated tools consistently, and connected or redesigned some workflows.
AI use can reach more of the team, supported by leadership, systems and training. Your report shows where those elements are established and where they are not.
Business impact:
A coordinated approach helps the practice review whether its AI choices serve its priorities and day-to-day work.
How you know you’re here:
The six dimension results show a stronger practice-wide foundation, even if some areas remain ahead of others.
What it looks like:
The practice includes AI in documented plans, tracks its goals, provides training and oversight, and formally reviews how tools perform.
Teams can redesign workflows and reduce manual information transfers while maintaining the resources to support broad adoption. No single product or proactive assistant is required for this level.
Business impact:
The focus is on sustaining, measuring and improving what works for the whole practice, not simply adding more tools.
How you know you’re here:
Your results show advanced practice-level maturity across the model, with a plan for maintaining and improving it.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the assessment take?
Allow around 10–15 minutes if your practice uses AI. These are estimates, not measured completion times.
Is the report really free?
Yes. Your personalized report is free and opens immediately after you submit the assessment.
Is this just a Digitail marketing piece?
The Veterinary AI Maturity Model was adapted from the Healthcare AI Governance Readiness Assessment (HAIRA) and is administered by AAHA. This assessment builds on the model to help practices see how they compare to the industry and how to improve based on the model. The report also has a separate section showing how Digitail’s capabilities relate to practice opportunities.
Who should take the assessment?
Someone who knows how the practice works across its team, systems and workflows should answer on the clinic’s behalf — for example, an owner, practice manager or lead vet. The result describes the practice’s maturity, not the respondent’s individual AI skills.
What do you do with my data?
Your individual answers are stored securely and used to generate your report. We never share individual answers. You can request deletion at any time.
How is the benchmark calculated?
Your report compares your practice’s six dimensions with documented averages from the AI In Veterinary Medicine 2026 Study | Digitail and AAHA. Assessment participants are not included in those study averages, and the report does not rank individual software platforms.
