Clinics using Digitail can now submit Trupanion insurance claims, request pre-approvals, send Exam Day Offers to uninsured clients, and receive Trupanion payments directly to their invoices, all without leaving Digitail where the rest of the visit happens. No more re-entering patient information that already lives in Digitail.
Why This Integration Matters
Pet insurance is growing. A meaningful portion of your clients may already have coverage, and a growing share are likely open to it. But the insurance workflow has long been a friction point in the visit: a separate portal, duplicate data entry, and claim status that’s invisible unless someone goes to check.
This integration removes that friction at every point in the visit flow.
Submit claims in the same step as checkout. Once an invoice is finalized in Digitail, the patient, billables and policy details carry over automatically to the Trupanion portal. When Trupanion approves the claim, payment posts directly to the invoice. Your front desk collects the remaining client balance and moves on.
Request pre-approvals before treatment begins. Pre-approval requests link to the treatment estimate in Digitail and go to Trupanion before the procedure starts. Pet parents know what their insurance will cover before they commit to care, which makes the financial conversation easier for everyone.
Turn appointments into enrollment opportunities. For eligible uninsured pets, an Exam Day Offer button appears in the Flowboard, Calendar, SOAP, and patient profile. Your team sends the offer in a few taps, as part of the normal visit. The button is hidden automatically when a patient does not meet Trupanion’s eligibility criteria, so there’s no risk of sending offers that can’t be fulfilled.
Real-time claim and pre-approval status in Digitail. Your front desk can see exactly where a claim stands without calling Trupanion or switching systems. When the status updates, it updates in Digitail.
